  JOE PROPERTY, USA
The Joe property is located a few kilometers east of Cave Junction in Josephine County, Oregon, USA. Much of property lies in the moderately rugged northwestern Klamath Mountains and is accessed by roads on most parts of the property. The Property covers part of an ultramafic belt in the western Cordillera which represents part of an obducted ophiolite suite (oceanic crust) that is bounded by east dipping thrust faults.
The property encloses several occurrences of nickel alloy which have been known since the late 1800's. At that time placer gold mining was carried out in Josephine Creek and heavy nuggets in sluice boxes that were found to be nickel alloy and consequently discarded or studied by academics.
More recent work has identified up to two centimeter sized fragments and clots of nickel alloys in bedrock and similar sized alluvial material or "nuggets" widely dispersed in creeks that drain the property. Widespread finer-grained nickel alloys and sulphides have been identified in bedrock by petrographic and scanning electron microscope (SEM) work. Analysis of rock samples on the property averaged 0.27% total nickel with a range from 0.18% to 0.39% nickel and significant palladium and platinum.
